Emergency Medical Services

Getting ready for the July 4th parade with our future EMT's

Berlin Emergency Medical Services was formed and Incorporated in 1972 and is responsible for providing emergency care to our residents in their time of need.  The department is a shared service and responds to both Berlin Township and Berlin Borough. The Department responds to over

One thousand emergency calls a year and also responds to assist with mutual aide to the surrounding communities when needed. One Ambulance is staffed twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week by two certified New Jersey Department of Health Emergency Medical Technicians. We currently employee four full time EMT's and twenty five part time and per diem EMT's.

The Department stills offers a volunteer program for new EMT's still in training or potential EMT candidates. We also offer a Junior program for local students between the ages of 16 and 18.

Our station is located on the White Horse Pike in Berlin directly across from Lucien's Manor. Our service is available anytime and residents who have a medical emergency are asked to call 9-1-1. Our Department offers out reach programs including CPR training  to our local schools and businesses when requested. During the summer months we run a program in conjunction with the Berlin Township and Berlin Borough Police departments called "ice cream for safety" which allows us to offer free Rita's ice cream of water ice to our local children if they are spotted by or EMT's or Police wearing helmets while biking or roller blading. The program enters it's third year and has been a big success.

Any resident who wold like additional information about the Department or has any questions about emergency services should feel to contact us at our non-emergency number (856) 753-0808 and remember to use 9-1-1 for all emergencies.

We continue to support our troops as they fight to protect our freedom and pray for their safe and quick return home.

In 2008 Berlin EMS was dispatched to 1,812 emergencies, there were 659 in Berlin Township, 815 in Berlin Borough and an additional 338 surrounding communities.
